Dr. Edward Lavieri Jr. is a seasoned software developer and senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE). He holds a Doctor of Computer Science degree from Colorado Technical University, a Master of Science in Information Systems from Bowie State University, and additional Master of Science degrees from the University of Arkansas Fayetteville and Capella University. His experience spans the military, the software industry, and academia.
He has a firm understanding of modern software systems based on his practical experience with intelligence and communication systems in the U.S. Navy and running a software design and development studio. His experience includes working on various software projects including grants from the National Science Foundation (NSF) and U.S. Department of Education.
His industry experience and knowledge shine through with his published works which include over one dozen technical books, voluminous published articles, and continuing research and exposure to modern technology in his role as a University Dean for a College of Computer Science and a School of Information Technology as well as the Chief Academic Officer of a programming bootcamp organization. These simultaneous and current academic positions are part of a university system accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.
When not working on technical or academic projects, Dr. Lavieri enjoys building new worlds with software and bricks.
