Lawrence Arthur Ley has a Computer Science degree from the University of Toronto and over 20 years of IT industry experience. He is passionate about learning new technologies and how they can make a positive impact. His Cardano journey started in 2021 with the Plutus Pioneers program, and he has worked on several open-source Cardano impact projects. Lawrence is a professor in the Blockchain Development Program at George Brown College in Toronto and runs the Cardano Blockchain Toronto monthly meetup with over 500 members.

His professional experience includes IT consulting in the telecommunications, banking, and retail industries. He has a proven track record of building and managing complex, integrated, highly scalable consumer and retail applications. His first experiences with cryptocurrencies involved mining Bitcoin and participating in local meetups where he met Ethereum co-founders Vitalik Buterin and Anthony Di Iorio.

In July 2023, Lawrence was invited to attend the Cardano CIP-1694 Governance Workshop in Edinburgh, Scotland, where he met Cardano co-founder Charles Hoskinson. He was deeply honored to participate in the governance workshops with many highly esteemed individuals from the Cardano ecosystem. He continues to be active in the Cardano community, exploring new technologies and helping others along the way.

In his current role, Venu focuses on the architecture, design, and development of blockchain systems, emphasizing Explainable AI (XAI), auditability, and transparency solutions. He manages GenAI solutions, leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs) and building Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) using the RAG Approach.

As a Board of Trustees member for the Blockchain For Productivity Forum (BCPF), Venu promotes blockchain adoption and implements innovative solutions for social welfare projects in India and internationally. Previously, as the Managing Director of Blocmatrix IT Solutions Pvt Ltd, he delivered cutting-edge solutions across various industries.

Venu holds an MBA in Executive Marketing from NIBM, India, and a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Madras, India. His competencies include solution design and development, product management, cloud deployment, consulting, project management, quality assurance, team leadership, training, and technical documentation.
